Amber Seira
Hometown: Santa Rosa, CA
Year: Sophomore
Major: Public Affairs; Nonprofit Management
Gotta Bring Up: I lost my first molar while backstroking during a swim class, needles to say, they lend me a pair of fins and goggles to dive under and fetch it from the bottom for the tooth fairy!
Looking Ahead: I am most looking forward to building real human relationships in Nicaragua, to fully experience the Fair Trade Network.
Jessica Pever
Hometown: Toledo, OH
Year: Freshman
Major: Social Work
Gotta Bring Up: My favorite tv show ever is Pushing Daisies. Unfortunately, it got cancelled after only two seasons. I secretly still have a hope that they will revive the show and give it a proper ending, even though it was cancelled in 2009.
Looking Ahead: Nicaragua will the farthest South I have ever traveled and will be my second time traveling outside of America.
Casey Johanns
Hometown: Dublin, OH
Year: Sophomore
Major: Business Administration- Marketing
Gotta Bring Up: I once tap-danced on stage in front of Gregory Hines!
Looking Ahead: I’m not sure what to expect out of this trip, but I am extremely excited! This will be my first traveling outside of the country.
Jenna Iseringhausen
Hometown: Gahanna, OH
Year: Sophomore
Major: Nursing
Looking Ahead: I’m very excited to meet the people of Nicaragua and experience the culture we’ve been learning so much about. This is going to be a life changing experience and I cannot wait to embrace it fully.
Kelsey Lewis
Hometown: Huntington, WV
Year: Freshman
Major: English
Gotta Bring Up: When I was little, I used to pick out all of the marshmallows in the Lucky Charms cereal and leave the true cereal in the box. It drove my father crazy.
Looking Ahead: I was most excited for this class because the study abroad component was not your average take a tour of the crumbling statues trip. This trip is personal, both for me and for the Nicaraguans I will come into contact with. It is a service-based course designed to create a relationship between people of two countries, and to me this is absolutely amazing!
Jasmine Webb
Hometown: Toledo, OH
Year: Junior
Major: International Studies (Development)
Gotta Bring Up: I live a life of sarcasm…dry humor is my forte.
Looking Ahead: Traveling to Nicaragua fulfills my immediate goal of leaving the U.S.A. I want to see a different part of the world and experience a new culture. More specifically, I’m hoping to gain a more personal connection to the concept and purpose of Fair Trade. I hope to come back fully loaded with ammo of knowledge to bring to our “oh so lovely” America. We need some culture shock here, people!
Devin Oliver
Hometown: Cleveland, OH

Looking Ahead: A goal of mine is to take advantage of the opportunity to witness and study the Fair Trade supply chain and production sites as well as how exactly the decisions we make as consumers can affect Nicaraguan communities. Oh, I’m also excited for gluten-free comida nicaragüense and all of the arroz y frijoles that I can find!
Deja Moore

Looking Ahead: From this course i would like to gain a deeper understanding about Fair Trade and the Nicaraguan people.
